De zaal werd gebouwd daar het Feestlokaal Vooruit in de St.Pietersnieuwstraat door de Duitsers werd bezet. De coöperatie wilde daarom een tijdelijke zaal openen in de Bagattenstraat. Deze cinema was een houten zaal gebouwd op de koer van het voornoemde huis. Het was een cinema-brasserie alsook een toneelzaal.
